Workshops

As scientists, we need our ideas to be convincing and memorable. In our writing and in our talks we need to keep fellow researchers, collaborators, funders and the public engaged, and make sure our ideas stick in their minds for hours, days, or even years after contact. Essentially, we need to be excellent communicators. Making use of storytelling, presentation, and improvisation techniques in interactive workshops, we help participants better communicate their research to their peers, to colleagues from another field, or to the public.

We offer a variety of workshops that focus on communicating science. These can be adapted to your needs (2 hrs or 2 days; 10 people or 100 people). We teach:

  • Presentation Skills for Researchers (at Bachelor-, Master-, PhD-, Postdoc-, PI-level, or for other expert groups)
  • Getting involved in Science Communication
  • Improvisation Skills for Researchers
  • Science Filmmaking
  • Collaborative creation

Our trainers are swiss-based professional trainers/science communicators that also happen to be Catalyst members (for example, Samuel Lagier, Adria LeBoeuf, Daisy Hessenberger).

Finally, we regularly host internationally renowned improvisers to share their knowledge in open workshops where Catalyst members get priority registration.

We can also design a new workshop to meet your needs! Please send us an email to start the process!
